3 Months later....

I'm baccccck! For now.

This semester has FLOWN by. I can't believe this week is the end of classes!! Only three more semesters then I graduate. Can't even believe it.

But for now, I must make it through 2 essays, one book, 4 exams, and many hours of studying! Oh and throw in 20hours at Hallmark during the busy season !:)

Family time is the best time

I guess it's true when people say you realize things you take for granted when you lose them. My mom came to visit me last week from AZ and it was the best few days ! Whenever I see mothers and daughters together it makes me realize how I took that for granted on a number of occasions.

We saw Brett graduate from his orientation at Mass Maritime, moved my stuff into my dorm, spent time at the beach with Brett, my cousin Vanessa, and my grandparents. It was good to have her back and to finally get Brett back at the same time. Family time should never be taken for granted and I have DEFINITELY learned that with my parents moving to AZ.

I am so bad at keeping this blog updated, but i'm trying now that I take many pictures with my new camera!

A few days after my birthday Chelsea and Lisa came to visit me at the Cape. We originally planned to hang by the beach, but it ended up being a rainy day off- what does that mean ? Shopping! Something I told myself I would stay away from this summer yet it hasn't really worked .

New favorite cupcake place? Cupcake Charlie's in Mashpee. AMAZING. Also throughout the shopping day I fell in love with another store-- Ulta. We spent over an hour looking at beauty products!

Late Bday Post!

I went home a few days before my 20th birthday and went shopping with my best friend Chelsey. I miss being able to spend time with her because I'm at the Cape, but we will be reuinited soon! I ended up buying a few tops from Hollister and then this fun Patriots top from Victoria's Secret:

On my actual birthday I went to Water Wizz with my cousin Vanessa. It was a great time and I enjoyed the fun in the sun ! Then we went to Chatham for a nice dinner and my night ended with cuddling up with Mojo ;)

Love the wii!

I finally got my Wii!!!!! Nick bought one for my birthday (a very early bday present). I ended up buying a game and a pink remote so we could play against each other. I never realized how expensive every little accessory is, but it is worth it because it's something i've wanted for such a long time. It's something that keeps us busy, too.

My friend and his girlfriend came to visit the other day, and it was great to spend the few hours with him that I did. I miss being home and seeing friends all the time. That is probably the toughest thing to deal with being here at the Cape.

My brother moves into his dorm next Saturday. Time is ticking and I know what must be going on in his head right now. I remember being excited and nervous all at the same time for move in day. I feel bad my parents are not around to help him with the move, but he just spent a whole week with them in AZ. I think once he moves into school we will be closer, and thankfully we are only living 30 mins away from each other.

On another happy note, my Dad is coming back home for an extended weekend in September! I am excited, I think I will start Hallmark a little later than I expected so I can have a little time with him !

I can't believe it's already August 5th. I move into school on the 29th and time is going to FLY!

My new buys

My cousin Vanessa came to visit me for two days. Talk about a great time! We went to the beach, out to eat, indulged in milkshakes, and saw Eclipse. For everyone that knows me, I was completely anti- twilight.... Was being the key word. I am Team Jacob! I don't know if I'll ever read the books but I guess I can never say never.

While we were at the beach, we were checking out all the bathing suits people had on.. Bad idea. As soon as we got home, we checked out the ones at Victoria's Secret. I love their bathing suits, especially when they are on sale! I narrowed it down to my top three and needless to say I have three new awesome bathing suits coming in the mail for me soon. I tried to find all the pics of them, but some are no longer on the site. I did end up with this one:

I just bought this Ed Hardy case for my Ipod.. In pink instead though. Love it!!

After that purchase I am seriously DONE for a while. There is nothing else I need and I need to crack down on saving my money.

Beach, Del's, and kangaroos

I try to take full advantage of my days off when I get them because I only get 2 a week. Usually me and Nick have opposite schedules, but we finally had the same day off which was nice for a change.

Our first stop was the beach. I love all the Dennis beaches I've been to... little seaweed! Can't complain. It's nice to have a beach sticker - access to resident only beaches; aka NO TOURISTS!

Then Nick showed me where they filmed part of the Bachelorette when Chris took Ali on a hometown date.

After we went to the Barnstable County Fair.. After hitting almost an hour worth of traffic we finally made it. It was interesting to people watch and walk around. They had a petting zoo, rides, and fair food! I couldn't decide what I wanted. Too many decisions.. But I finally found my watermelon Del's so I was content. The best part of the fair was probably being able to hold a baby kangaroo and getting a picture with it. So awesome! Don't get to do anything like that in Douglas. haaa

Visit back home

I love going back "home". Douglas is still considered my home even though I don't technically have a house there anymore. It's hard driving by the house that I've grown up in for almost 20 years of my life, knowing there are others living there.

But, besides thinking about that and missing my parents and cats to DEATH, I LOVE trips back home to see my grandparents and my best friends!!

I got my hair highlighted and cut- then the plan was to meet up with my close friends Meghan and Chelsey! I've missed them so much so they were able to meet up for shopping and pedicures! After picking up some lunch, I ran into my little sister Chelsea. I was so happy to see her and she ended up joining us for our little shopping trip! Talk about fate....

All smiles when we got our pedicures!! I love girls days and really miss that about home, but as long as we plan in advance it all works out!

New favorite movie

My favorite actor in the WORLD is Adam Sandler.. I actually got to meet him a few years ago when I went to California with my friend Jacleen- the best part about him (other than he's hilarious)? He is so down to earth and doesn't let Hollywood get to his head. Of course I had to go see his new movie, Grown Ups.

By far the best movie I will probably see all summer.. Although I have yet to watch the full ending of it because the actual film was messed up and faded out with minutes to go, the parts that I did see gave me a good laugh.

After seeing the movie it made me realize the basic things in life are what should matter. It's about memories with old friends, and making new memories with others. Change is good but in the end memories with old friends will remain the same. I loved it so much and can't wait to see it again!

They filmed parts of the movie at Water Whiz, the local water park closest to the Cape- I can't wait to check it out with Chelsea, my mini me this summer!

Work work and more work

I do so well with blogging until everything else comes before it. Lately my life has consisted of: work, the beach, running errands, and more work. Originally I asked for 30 hrs a week and the last week alone totals 38. Craziness!!

I really enjoy my job.. It's exciting to always be doing something different, although I end up taking orders for the most part. The good side of working in the food business is I'm able to see how a restaurant works and runs. Since I am majoring in business and concentrating on marketing, there are many different jobs in the field. I have yet to decide whether I enjoy retail, restaurants, or whatever else more. I think after this summer I'll be able to narrow down what I really want to do. If not that, I will be able to tell many stories about customers coming in. After every shift I can definitely tell an interesting story----- thats for sure. Maybe I will share some stories on here.

Class of 2010

Brett graduated from high school on Friday. It was a little weird thinking 2 years had passed since I graduated and now he's going off to college. I'm so proud of him!

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! It was great to relax this weekend and spend some quality time with my Mom.- def needed!

Today we went shopping for a little bit then hit the beach!

She bought me this beach towel:

Love it because 1) It's Lacoste 2) It has anchors all over it 3)It's huge!!!!!

Unfortunately when we hit the beach, it was very windy.. as you can see in this picture .

I can't wait for more beach days to come... without the wind.

Howe Caverns

Finally I can post some pictures from my mini-vaca! I went to Cooperstown with Nick and his mother, Janet last weekend. On our way we stopped by Howe Caverns, a place you can go 16 stories underground. It was interesting to see what's below ground , and i can not imagine being the one guy with the lantern discovering it! Crazyyyy

It was a fun experience. I had never been so it was nice to do something different for a change. Also, this was the beginning of my first "real" camping trip

Nick's Graduation

Last Friday Nick graduated from CCRI! He received his associates degree. Woooohoo Now he's coming to BSC. I'm so proud that he finished off on a great note and his focus is on good grades!

My latest shopping finds!

Recently I have stopped purchasing things that I don't need, but I figured since I've been so good I should treat myself to a few new things :)

I bought this dress from NY & Company.. It fit perfectly! I was trying to stay away from another blue dress or anything blue for that matter (because I have so much blue in my wardrobe already) , but it was the best color they had for the dress! It is extremely comfortable and I think I will be wearing it a lot this summer.

I am all for a nice pair of sunglasses.. I think paying a little extra helps in the long run and gives you better quality anyway. I saw these sunglasses when I went to Mohegan Sun and I fell in love with them! Two summers ago I was out shopping and found a pair very similar, but they were Versace (I believe) and I didn't want to spend the money (but regretted not buying them). This pair is from the Vera Bradley sunglasses collection and they are so amazing! Definitely excited that I bought something I can use for years to come.

I also purchased some shorts from Aerie, Gap, and a few tank tops from AE.

Now it is time to go through my many drawers and closet (for the 5th time) and get rid of some things..

Summer 2010 has begun!

Officially moved in to the Cape!!

Have my work cut of for me unpacking things and organizing.. But I have some time to do that!

I start working at Seafood Sam's May 26th and I am super excited for something new and different :)

I will definitely be posting updates a few times a week... and I plan on purchasing another digital camera in the near future so I will be able to blog a lottt more..

21 days left until I move to Cape Cod for the summer...... Only 9 days of classes left.. Boy did this year fly by! I feel like it was just Christmas and now it's almost summer! But I can't complain-- summer is my favorite season.

Talk about course overload though, I need to start setting goals and making large check lists to get everything done and giving everything 100 % .

I hope that come summertime I'll be able to blog more... I hope so at least, I will have more to blog about!

Hopefully I don't let another few months pass before updating this......

I wanted to change my background to something more colorful, and I found this perfect layout but the old background will not change to what I want it to be :(

I'm not doin too good on my resolution..

I haven't blogged since I moved in, oops. So scratch that off my resolution list.... I am busier than ever due to homework and actual work. It's like I went from being bored out of my mind to having so much on my plate and I don't know where to begin...

Yesterday I went back home for Nick's Mom's 50th bday party. It was good to see Nick again.. Don't know how I lasted a month last year without seeing him...

His Dad even treated us for Wright's today ; yummmm.....

Now I think I'm getting a cold.. So my bed is callin my name. Busy week ahead of me.. Workin for the weekend, esp Friday!:)

All moved in!!

Yesterday I moved back into school. With the help from my friend Meghan, I was able to unload everything in two trips! It was nasty weather out in the morning, but luckily it wasn't raining/snowing very hard when I arrived.

This morning I woke up at 7:30 and went to the gym! It felt good to kick start my day early on. (Plus it won't be so bad waking up tomorrow morning).

It will be hard to get back into the swing of things, but I need to start tomorrow! I also work tomorrow so I'm going to be exhausted on Thursday.

My goals are set.. Dean's list here I come.

What a let down....

Lovin' Life

New Year's Eve was a lot of fun! Me and Nick went to TGI's for dinner then saw Up In The Air!! It was a good movie, but we were the youngest there- Because we obviously choose not to drink haha

On another positive note, I've been to the gym the last two days!!! Love being on a schedule again and I am ready to get back on a workout routine.

And my biggest Christmas present is now in my posession!!- NEW TIRES!! Woohoo :)
